Graham Walker (Founder & Lead Tutor)
Graham Walker Tuition was established in early 2023 to help meet the growing demand for tuition not only in Lancaster but further afield via both in-person and online lessons.
I graduated from Staffordshire University with a BA(Hons) Business Management degree in 2006. After several years working in marketing and analyst roles within the private sector, I decided to pursue my passion for teaching and completed a Primary PGCE at The University of Cumbria.
I have over 15 years teaching experience which includes a range of roles within senior leadership teams as well as serving as a school governor for 4 years. I have spent my teaching career working in Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding areas teaching a wide range of students from Reception to Year 11.
I currently offer private tuition to students working towards GCSE Maths, the 11 plus entrance exams, needing additional support with their primary education or students who are targeting other areas of success and require a personalised programme of study to help them achieve their goals.
Sarah Wagstaffe (Associate Tutor)
I’m a passionate English tutor with a doctorate in English Literature from Lancaster University. I have four years’ experience teaching at college and university level within Lancaster and the South Lakes region.
I’ve loved writing since I could hold a pen, and I now share that passion by helping students grow in confidence and discover their own creative voice. I always put my students’ needs and learning styles first, tailoring lessons to bring out the best in each individual and making learning both effective and enjoyable.
I offer private tuition, 7 days a week, to students working towards GCSE/A-Level English, the 11 plus entrance exams, or students who would like to improve their creative writing ability and require a personalised programme of study to help them achieve their goals.
I am based in Halton and offer in-person lessons at the home of students in Lancaster and the surrounding areas, as well as providing online lessons.
Diane Hargreaves (Associate Tutor)
I have been teaching Biology for 20 years and currently teach at a high-performing grammar school in the UK.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Biology and Biochemistry and a PGCE in Secondary Education. I focus on helping students build confidence and develop a clear, secure understanding of Biology.
Alongside teaching, I have worked as an AQA examiner for around 10 years, including 4 years as a senior examiner for GCSE Biology leading a team of examiners. This gives me a clear understanding of what examiners are looking for, which I use to help both GCSE and A-level students improve their exam techniques and maximise their marks.
Tom Burrow (Associate Tutor)
I am a qualified primary school teacher who graduated from The University of Cumbria in 2021 with a BA(Hons) Primary Education degree specialising in the subject of Maths.
I currently teach full time at a primary school in Lancaster as well as offering private tuition for all areas of primary education and the 11 plus entrance exams.

Megan Turner (Associate Tutor)
I graduated from The University of Edinburgh with an MA (Hons) in History in 2021. Continuing at University in Edinburgh, I completed an MSc (by Research) in Economic and Social History in 2023. Throughout this time, I privately tutored English online to individuals and small groups of students ranging from Key Stage 2 to GCSE.
After University, I worked as an Education Manager within the Museums and Heritage sector.
This year, I have started as a trainee Primary Teacher, teaching Key Stage 2 full-time whilst completing my PGCE.
I offer both in-person (within London) and online private tuition to students working towards GCSE English or requiring additional support with any area of primary education
